To hire a van in Preston you need to provide us with a DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) Licence check code.

Since 2020 this has been a requirement for all van hire firms. This replaces the old paper part check.

There are several reasons why you might need to obtain a DVLA Licence check.

For example, you will need this to check the driver’s licensing status. You will need Your National Insurance number to perform this.

You might also need it if you are hiring a vehicle.

Or if you are an employer and need to check the driving record of one of your employees.

To get a DVLA check code, you will need to go to the DVLA website and follow the steps to request a licence check code.

You will need to provide some personal and vehicle-related information, and the DVLA will send you a check code by email or text message.

We can then use this code to access the information you need.

You can print off the check yourself or have the 8 digit code to hand to give to the rental desk.
