Haigh Woodland park Wigan

This is a firm favourite in the Wigan area, it has some great wooded hiking trails through the woodland areas in the park. If it’s a clear day, you can get some great views of Wigan from the Hall, then you have the High ropes for the more adventurous in your party, or there is an adventure golf area also. You can finish your adventures off back at the Courtyard where there are a few restaurants selling hot & cold food and drinks. Its a great day out for the whole family.

Moses Gate country park

Moses Gate country park is a large country park that boasts nature reserves with some fantastic woodland , nature trails and lovely walks round by the waterside. It has cycle routes, its open all year round and best of all its free to visit. The park is in Bolton and has 35 hectares of space to have fun & find wildlife. There are 3 large lakes in the park, a large play area and a great bird hide which overlooks a lovely wildlife setting.

Dunham Massey

Dunham Massey gardens is in the grounds of an 18th century Hall in Altrincham, it boasts fantastic walks, and is steeped in history. The gardens and Deer park at Dunham Massey are fantastic to stroll round with over 300 acres of parkland to explore, this is great for all ages.
Then you can relax and have a spot of lunch at the Stables restaurant and even visit the sop or ice cream parlour. You may need to book on line to visit, so please check the website for further details.

Abney Hall

Abney hall park is located in Cheadle and is set in 200 acres of open green space, woodlands and wetlands where you can explore secret path ways, ponds and waterfalls. You can see all sorts of wildlife and even enjoy a warm drink and a spot of lunch in the cafe.
