Interior

The inside of Model 3 is unlike any other car. You can use your smartphone as a key, and access all driver controls in the central 15-inch touchscreen. The all-glass roof extends from front to back, creating a sense of openness from every seat. The premium centre console is modern and efficient, with plenty of covered storage and charging for two smartphones. All the seats are heated and the clever climate controls allow multi-flow air temperature control for passengers and driver. Model 3 achieved a Euro NCAP 5-star safety rating overall and in every category. It also earned the highest score awarded for the Safety Assist category through its advanced active safety features including a suite of Lane Support Systems, Seatbelt Reminder, Speed Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking.

Passengers

The back seat is very comfortable—with maximum legroom and beautiful views through the all-glass roof. Comfortable enough for a six-footer to sit behind a driver of a similar height, the Tesla’s taller side windows and standard panoramic glass roof make it feel less claustrophobic in the back than many saloon rivals, and a middle rear passenger will find there’s more space for their knees and feet. If you need to carry child seats, you’re in luck as model 3 has easy to find Isofix points on its outside rear seats. For a saloon, the boot space is adequate. However, there’s actually more space for luggage than you’ll find in conventional executive rivals thanks to space under the bonnet! In total, you could manage to squeeze in an impressive total of 10 carry-on suitcases inside. A buggy or a couple of sets of golf clubs won’t prove a problem.

Technology

So the Model 3 isn’t completely self-driving but does have autopilot advanced safety and convenience features, that are designed to assist you with the most burdensome parts of driving. Autopilot enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within its lane. 360° rear, side and forward-facing cameras provide maximum visibility, as well as 12 Ultrasonic Sensors to detect nearby cars, prevent potential collisions and assist with parking. The 15-inch touchscreen replaces the traditional dashboard dials and gives you an overview of the health and settings of the entire vehicle. Everything from the wipers to the headlights are controlled via the central touchscreen. Even adjusting the door mirrors and steering wheel can be done with the touch of a button. The speedometer is positioned on the right-hand edge which means you only have to turn your head a little to read it whilst cruising along.
