The most important requirement when hiring a car is a valid driving licence. In the UK, you must hold a full licence that allows you to drive the type of vehicle you are renting. We will not accept provisional licences for standard rentals.

When collecting your hire car, make sure you bring your physical driving licence card with you. If you have an older paper licence, this will be accepted, but some photographic proof will be required eg. Passport

Drivers need to have held a UK licence for a minimum 2 Years, and be over the age of 25

Proof of Address

We will also need two proofs of your current address. This helps confirm your identity and complete the rental agreement.

Accepted documents often include:

  • Utility bills
  • Bank statements
  • Council tax letters
  • Official government correspondence

These documents are required to be dated within the last three months. Digital copies may sometimes be accepted.

A Payment Card

To hire a car, you will need a valid CREDIT CARD. The card must be in the main driver’s name, as it is used for payment and the required security deposit.

We place a temporary hold on funds during the hire period. This deposit is released once the vehicle is returned in good condition and according to the rental agreement.

Before arriving, it is a good idea to make sure you have enough available funds to cover both the rental charge and the deposit amount.

Insurance Information

Many customers choose additional cover for extra peace of mind, excess reduction, especially for long journeys or unfamiliar driving routes. Always take a few minutes to read the insurance terms carefully so you know exactly what protection you have.

Age Requirements

Drivers need to meet minimum age requirements before hiring a car. The minimum age is 25

Checking the Vehicle Before You Leave

Before driving away, inspect the car carefully with a member of staff. Make sure any existing scratches, dents, or marks are recorded on the rental agreement.

You should also familiarise yourself with:

  • Return instructions

You are welcome to take few photos of the vehicle before, even though we will forward a full check sheet including images to your chosen email address.
